Creating and Managing Tasks

Creating a task

From your Dashboard, click the “Add new task” inside the Task card to open the task form.

In the task form, fill out the details for your task. The only two fields that are required here are the name and the due date.

Assigning tasks

As a client-admin/manager, you have the option to assign this task to one or more of your users. To do this, check the “Assign task to user(s)” button at the bottom of the form, and select your user(s).

Once you save the task, the assigned users will receive an email notification that a new task has been created for them in the HR Portal.

To assign the task to yourself, leave the “Assign task to user(s)” field empty.

Adding documents

The current supported file types for uploads are PDF, JPEG, and PNG. If the “add upload(s) to user file” option is selected, the upload(s) will be copied to the assignee’s Documents. If an upload is copied to the user's file, deleting the task will not delete the file from the user’s Documents.

Sending Custom Documents

To attach a Custom Document to a task, the task must be created through the Documents page rather than the Dashboard.

On the Documents page under the Company Documents tab, click the paper plane icon to create and send the custom document attached to a task.

The form for this kind of task does not have the option to upload additional documents. To assign the task to yourself, leave the “Assign task to user(s)” box unchecked.

Once you save this task, the assignee(s) will receive an email notification that they have a new task in their HR Portal.

Editing and deleting Tasks

To reopen the task form and make an edit, click the name of the Task. At the bottom of the form, there is a button to delete the task.

Completing and reopening completed tasks

To mark a task as complete, click the checkbox to the left of the name.

A task that has been marked as complete can be reopened. On the user profile under the Tasks tab, find the task under the Completed Tasks section. Click the name and at the bottom of the form that opens, click “Reopen Task”. The task’s status will be reverted to incomplete and moved to the Open Tasks section.
